Lucid and DiD unite for a record-making summer meeting

Jul 22, 2021

Lucid Group’s summer meetings are legendary, always providing the optimal mix of business focus with fun, family and friends. For obvious reasons, we couldn’t get everyone together in person this year, but to try and replicate our summer meeting in a virtual world would not do it justice. An alternative, something completely different, had to be found…

We realised that, instead, here was the ideal opportunity to bring new friends together from across the pond – Lucid Group and the newly acquired US-based strategic brand consultancy, DiD.

This was the first major connection for Lucid Group and DiD, collaborating and unifying as an entire business. A business with strong cultural alignment and more potential than ever before – a new powerhouse in the healthcare communications space. And, while COVID has clipped the wings of many company events, Lucid was determined to create an experience that would match its combined ambition. How? By making history and creating a new and official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS for most people handwriting notes online simultaneously.

The mission was set: it required collaboration, careful planning and execution, and finally superpowers! We encapsulated everything that the new powerhouse of Lucid Group and DiD represents. And to achieve the status of official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS holder, the entire organisation had to simultaneously communicate their individual superpowers to each other and, of course, an official adjudicator from Guinness World Records online.  It was a great demonstration of ambition, skill, teamwork and unified strength.

Dennis O’Brien, Lucid CEO, commented, “We love having a bit of fun – it’s much needed at the moment and we wanted an experience that connected our teams together. This was an amazing experience that marked the start of an exciting journey together. A journey that will see us add more value to our clients, create amazing opportunities for our teams and help us to make a huge impact on healthcare.”

Rick Sannem, DiD Founder commented, “This was a great demonstration to everyone about our cultural similarities and shared passion to create a new and amazing story around our future work together.  Now we all get to share in a very exciting, unique and fun story. A story about recognising and appreciating our individual superpowers which, when combined, enabled us to create something truly extraordinary together: in this case, a new official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title!”

In celebration of this amazing remarkable feat, Lucid Group will also be donating £10 for each person who helped achieve the record to two health literacy charities – one on each side of the pond. Sharing the success of our writing mission with our wider world.
