Challenge
The objective was to enable the successful launch of a first-in-class treatment by highlighting the need for new therapies to improve patient outcomes. A community campaign was required to advance understanding of the disease and drive improved diagnosis and early treatment.
Solution
The vision, roadmap and scientific narrative for a multi-interventional campaign was co-created with multidisciplinary clinical experts. Consensus-derived outputs included a visual tool to assess disease impact and a new treatment algorithm. Scientific exchange sessions, on-demand resources, and publications supported healthcare professional education. Patient education was driven through advocacy groups and social networks, and patients validated key campaign elements.
Outcome
More than 2,000 clinical specialists were reached through the scientific exchange sessions, and 87% reported a mindset shift on the impact of the disease on patients’ quality of life. 92% of surveyed patients believed the new disease impact tool facilitated better conversations with their doctors.
